why can't i pre order particular loaves/other products online?
sorry about that - at this point in time, only the products that are available every day we open are available to pre order.
can i place an order in store?
as a general rule - no. however if you want to order something that isn't available online, come in and have a chat. in any case, we don't reserve products without taking pre payment.
help, i missed the 48 hour order cut off!
it happens - give us a call and we'll see if we can squeeze your order in (unless it's less than 24 hours away). no promises though!
do you offer catering?
yes we do! you can send us an email with your event details/order requirements and we can go from there.
do you offer wholesale?
yes we do! there are a number of sydney cafes & restaurants who serve our bread. if you are interested in doing the same, please use our wholesale enquiry form the menu bar above.
do you have anything gluten free?
while we offer a number of gluten free cakes & biscuits, we don't make gluten free bread. due to the nature of the production environment, it's not possible to make a completely gluten free product that is suitable for coeliacs. because our bread is naturally fermented, many people with a sensitivity/intolerance to gluten, will find it well and they don't get experience the gut side effects additionally, we strictly use heritage & ancient grains which offer more nutrients to the body.
fiore is italian no? what's the italian connection? do you make "italian bread"?
one half of fiore is Alberto - he's from the north of italy but has lived in australia for 10+ years. the other half is samantha - she is sydney born & bred. our little shop is a melange of italian & australian culture. you'll find homage to alberto's homeland through some typically italian products (zaeti biscuits, bombolini, spiga, our deli style panini). but our style of bread is not typically italian. 'levito madre' (sourdough) is not as popular as it is here, there you'll commonly find bread rolls made with processed/bleached tipo 00 flour & lots of yeast. conversely, our bread is completly naturally levened (that is, no added yeast), slow fermented (left to rest and rise over 24 hours) and made with sustainably grown, australian wheat (some ancient grains, some not). this style of minimal intervention bread making goes back to xxx and essentially means more nutrients for you.
i'm after a "wholemeal" loaf
wholemeal or whole grain simply means that the whole grain has been used to produce the flour.
is everything sourdough?
yep, all of our bread is sourdough.
